It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Krisanne M. (Hallstrom) Wood, 59, who passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, after a long illness.
Krisanne is survived by her son, Jess Wood, and her beloved cat, Annie, known affectionately for her double-golden paw. She leaves her mother, Nancy Hallstrom; her sisters, Lynne Cronin and Jill Nugent; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Robert Hallstrom.
Born in Worcester, Krisanne was the daughter of Robert and Nancy (Wilder) Hallstrom. She graduated from Burncoat High School and earned a dental assistant certification. She went on to work as a dental assistant and office manager at various local dental practices.
Krisanne enjoyed vacationing in Maine, especially visits to the Nubble Lighthouse, Long Sands Beach, and Barnacle Billy’s in Perkins Cove—always with a tuna roll. She loved gardening and, most of all, treasured spending time with her son. Together, they visited Mystic Aquarium, attended car shows, and enjoyed many peaceful hours fishing. She will be remembered fondly as a devoted mother, a caring daughter, and a loyal friend.
In accordance with her wishes, all services will be private. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Krisanne’s memory may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, Neady Cats in Sterling, MA, or the Mystic Aquarium, reflecting her deep love for animals.
May she rest in paradise until we meet again.
