Edward E. Gendreau, 85, of Derry, NH, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 12, 1940, in Westford, MA, he was the son of the late Albert and Marguerite (Perry) Gendreau. Ed proudly served in the U.S. Navy as Radio Intel Operator from 1958 to 1962. After his military service, he remained a deeply patriotic American and a lifelong member of the NRA.
Ed was the founder, President, and CEO of Polybond, where his innovative work in polymers earned him numerous patents. For many years he worked shoulder-to-shoulder with his son Edward, building the company together with dedication and pride.
Above all, Ed cherished his family. He loved nothing more than gathering with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at the lakehouse. He loved hitting the open road on his motorcycle with his sons, grandsons, nieces, and nephews, and he never missed a chance to ski or golf with those he held dear. His greatest joy, however, was his beloved wife Judith, and her passing in October left him heartbroken after 67 years of marriage.
He is survived by his daughter Debra Bouthiette and her husband Rick; his sons Edward Gendreau and Mark Gendreau and his wife Julia; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ed was predeceased by his wife Judith E. (Perras) Gendreau; his daughter Donna Gendreau; his son Gregg Gendreau; his grandson Edward Gendreau; his daughter-in-law Lynn Gendreau; his brothers Charles, William, Maurice, and Raymond Gendreau; and his sister Rita Marchand.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held Wednesday December 3, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:30 am at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry Rd, E. Derry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gate of Heaven Parish Catholic Women’s Group in Lancaster, New Hampshire.
