Marie Titi Serne, also known to many as Catherine E. Edmond, 72, of Avon, passed away peacefully on November 22nd under hospice care, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Selibon Serne.
Born in Haiti, Marie was the daughter of the late Lisyus Edmond and Chariteze Duce.
She leaves behind a loving legacy in her children: Sherline Montesuma, Martine K. Montesuma, Darlene Montesuma, and Kendra Serne; her stepdaughter, Sara Jose Montessuma; and her stepson, Fenord August. She was the proud and beloved grandmother of Sebastian E. Montesuma and Keymorah A. Montesuma.
Marie is survived by her siblings: Nathan Edmond, Jean Denis Eliscar, Leconte Dieumaître, Bernadin Benoit, Marie Ange Benoit, Bénicia Benoit, and Marie Sara Benoit. She was predeceased by her siblings Promise Edmond and Daniela Ducè.
She will be deeply missed by her former husband, Orismond Montesuma, and her many nieces and nephews, including Joanne Edmond, Elvire Edmond, Nancy Edmond, and Marie Alice Borgela. She is also lovingly remembered by extended family members from the Zidor, Gervaille, Toussaint, Saint Louis, Firmin, Estimé, Blanc, August, and Eliscar families.
Funeral Services: Services will be held at Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street, Brockton, on Saturday, December 6th at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery, 88 N. Pearl Street, Brockton.
Repass: Following the burial, all are welcome to join the family at Gigi’s Function Room, 197 Crescent Street, Brockton.
