Jeffrey R. Dowd, 54, originally from South Boston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025. He was surrounded by the love of his family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Born on June 7, 1971, Jeffrey lived a life marked by dedication, loyalty, and a deep love for those closest to him. He then went on to live in Salem, Massachusetts, for many years, building a life filled with family, friendships, and meaningful work.
For many years, Jeffrey served with pride as a probation officer at the Salem District Court. He was admired for his fairness, compassion, and unwavering commitment to helping others. His gentle approach and strong sense of justice touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on his community.
Jeffrey’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving mother, Patricia Dowd, and is reunited with his father, Robert Dowd, who predeceased him. He leaves behind his siblings: his sister Kristin Dowd and her daughter Madisyn; his brother Jason Dowd and his daughter Sofia; and his brother Brian Dowd and his sons Robert and Gavin. Jeffrey also adored his great-nieces, Liliani and Ahnaleia, who brought light and joy into his life.
Jeffrey also leaves his beloved wife, Danielle, with whom he shared countless beautiful memories, especially their cherished time spent on the beach and on vacations together. He is also survived by his stepson JP Thiffault, his mother-in-law Isabel Rosatto, his sister-in-law Stacey VanPutten, and his brother-in-law Joseph Egan. He held a special place in his heart for his wife’s family and the love they shared.
Jeffrey was a man who made friends everywhere he went. His kindness, humor, and loyal spirit earned him an incredible circle of friends who will miss him deeply. His presence brought warmth to every room, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
