
Mary C. Vivolo, age 84, passed away on Monday, November 24th, at Elizabeth Seton Residence of Wellesley. Born and raised in Boston’s North End, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Ida (Jerone) Vivolo. Mary lived in Medford, Woburn and Somerville, and has spent the last four years in Wellesley.
Mary was a devout Catholic and started the Madonna of the Universe prayer group in 2007, along with her friend Mary McMakin. She also prayed over statues that were sent worldwide, with many miracles attributed to their presence.
Mary was the dear sister of Phyllis Gobbi and her late husband Joseph, Theresa Aiello and her late husband Anthony, and Joseph Vivolo and his loving companion, Joanie Shute. She was the cherished aunt of Joseph Gobbi, Jolene Noyes and her husband David, Michael Gobbi and his fiancé, Eliane Gomez, Maria Antonelli and her husband Bill, Maryann Surette and her husband David, Carmen Vivolo, Joe Mike Vivolo, and the late Anthony Vivolo. Mary is also survived by many loving great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours for Mary have been omitted. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, on Wednesday, December 3rd at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and are encouraged to arrive at church by 9:45 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
