Obituary

STANDISH- Richard (Dick) B. Hunt went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 24, 2025, after a long illness. Born to loving parents, Bernard Ira Hunt and Helen Louise Pitman on September 27, 1948, Dick grew up in Rochester, NH and graduated in1967 from Spaulding High School, where he was an accomplished baseball player. He graduated from SMVTI in South Portland in 1970 with a degree in Construction Engineering. He was employed by Grossman’s Lumber Company in Portland, ME for 27 years, as a Retail Store and Contractor Sales Division Manager for Southern Maine. He was also a self-employed retailer for several years. Dick married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia A. Page. He and Cindy were married for 56 years. Dick and Cindy made their home in Gorham, ME, raising their two children, Jeffrey and Jenny. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather of three grandchildren. Dick enjoyed coaching little league, watching plays, concerts and sport activities in which his family participated in. Being a snowbird, he enjoyed his retirement home in Mesa, AZ, playing golf, swimming, hiking in the mountains and spending time with his many friends and family. He loved golf and watching the Patriots play while eating M&M’s and chocolate chip cookies. Dick was a devoted Chrisian and served in many churches over his lifetime, just “loving God and loving people”.

He is survived by his wife Cindy, his children, son Jeffrey & his wife Kelley and daughter Jenny Raymond, all from Standish. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, James Raymond, Samantha Raymond and Carlos Hunt, and one sister, Carolyn Reichert & her husband William of Newmarket NH.

Visitation will be held on Monday Dec. 8th from 10 am – 11 AM, followed by an 11 AM funeral service with refreshments to follow at Livingstone Community Church, 711 Ossipee Trail West in Standish. Burial will be amongst family at Hillside Cemetery in Gorham.
