Obituary

Isidoro Tourinho Rego, 69, a longtime Lowell resident, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Silva) Rego.

He was born in Portugal on December 29, 1955 and was a son of the late Isidoro Antonio Rego and the late Maria Lourdes Tourinho Rego. He was raised and educated in Portugal before meeting and marrying his wife, Maria, and immigrated to the United States, settling in Lowell to raise a family.

For many years he worked in the manufacturing field, eventually retiring as an assembly line supervisor.

Isidoro was a gentle yet hardworking man who genuinely cared about people. He was a soccer fan and ardent supporter of Sporting Clube de Portugal, and he also enjoyed deep sea fishing. Additionally, he was a member of the Portuguese American Civic League “The Reds Club” for many years.

Besides his wife of 42 years, Maria (Silva) Rego, he is also survived by their 2 sons, Alvaro Rego and his significant other Jessica Byron of Dracut, and Joshua Rego of Lowell. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Devin, Aubrey, Kailey, and Emma, his siblings, Lola Rego, Belmira Rego, Alcides Rego, and Ermelinda Rego, all of Portugal, Tone Chico Rego of Spain, and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Manuela Rego.

On Saturday, November 29, 2025 all are welcome to attend his funeral mass at 10 a.m. at Saint Anthony Church, 893 Central Street, Lowell.
