
Stephen Galante, 63, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, in South Boston, Massachusetts after a long illness. Born on August 27, 1962, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, Stephen lived a life marked by warmth, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the world around him.
Stephen grew up in Winchester Massachusetts, graduating from Winchester High School in 1980. He continued his education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in business. His passion for exploration and connection led him to a fulfilling career as a flight attendant with USAir. Through his work, he traveled extensively and embraced the opportunity to experience new cultures and places—an extension of his adventurous spirit.
Stephen's love of travel was matched by his joy in cultivating beauty at home. He had a green thumb and took great pride in his roof top garden, where he found peace and creativity among the plants he nurtured and could enjoy his beloved ocean view. Cooking was another of Stephen’s passions; he delighted in preparing meals that brought people together and reflected his generous nature.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his zest for life, and the way he made those around him feel seen and valued. Whether sharing stories from his travels or tending to his garden with care, Stephen brought lightness and laughter into every space he entered.
Stephen is survived by his loving husband, Christopher Cain; his mother, Ruth Galante of Pocasset, MA; siblings Mary Ellen Galante of Scarborough, ME, Robert S. Galante of Winchester, MA, Thomas Galante of Pocasset, MA, David Galante, of Palm Springs, California, Lisa Fennelly of Wayland, MA, and Rachel Clancy of Ayer, MA. He will also be mourned by his in-laws Paul Lyons, Cheryl Galante, Shawn Fennelly and Scott Clancy, his 8 nieces and nephews, 2 grand nieces, and his aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Robert T. Galante.
