Raymond James “Ray” Bernard, age 52, passed away suddenly on November 19, 2025. Born on April 10, 1973, Ray was the loving husband of Barbara Hatch Bernard and the devoted father of Parker, the role he cherished most in life. He was predeceased by his mother Pamela Bernard Manson, his stepfather Richard “Dick” Manson, and his father Raymond Bernard.
Ray was known for his infectious laugh, generous spirit, and genuine care for others. He was a beloved brother in law, a proud uncle, and a loyal friend who brought joy, support, and warmth to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Ray loved music in all its forms, especially the songs of Bruce Hornsby, which he would listen to day and night. He adored the Boston Red Sox and everything related to baseball, whether he was attending games, coaching, or helping kids play in the front yard. Taking Parker to Fenway Park as often as possible brought him tremendous pride and happiness. He and Parker were treated to tours, autographs, and memorabilia from the Hartford Yard Goats, where many cherished memories were made.
Ray found peace near the ocean, especially on Bailey Island in Maine, surrounded by sailboats and lighthouses. In moments of stress, he would often say, “Let’s take a ride to the beach.” He loved making Parker laugh while crossing the “shaky shaky bridge” into the state known as “The Way Life Should Be.”
Ray also loved Christmas and the Christmas Prelude in Kennebunkport. He treasured family traditions and found excitement in creating new adventures and memories. Those around him never knew what he would come up with next. He especially enjoyed hosting Christmas Eve and sharing the magic of the season.
Ray was grateful for the many blessings in his life. He loved his family deeply, valued lifelong friendships, and embraced the new connections formed through Parker and their life in Londonderry. He will be remembered for his warmth, quiet strength, and the love and laughter he shared so freely.
He will be deeply missed.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, November 29th from 1 – 4pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Zachary Anzalone Foundation at https://zacharyanzalonefoundation.org/
