
Giovanni Ciampa, 91, of Medford passed away on Friday, November 21st, at Massachusetts General Hospital of Boston. Born and raised in Chiusano Di San Domenico, Avellino, Italy, he was the son of the late Antonio and Felicia (Dalelio) Ciampa. Giovanni enjoyed being outside and worked for many years as a groundskeeper at Mass General Hospital. He loved gardening and riding his lawnmower, and made his own wine and sauce. Most of all, he lived for spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Giovanni was the beloved husband of Filomena (Cataldo) Ciampa, and the devoted father of Anthony Ciampa and his wife Deborah, Nancy Kinslieh and her husband Sonny, and Angela Manco and her husband Dario. He was the loving grandfather of Paul Morris, Grace and Giovanni Ciampa, Michael, Christopher and Cristina Kinslieh, and Gianluca Manco. Giovanni is survived by three great grandchildren: Camden, Kaiden and Micheala. He was the dear brother of Raffaele Ciampa and his wife Elvira, and the late Geremia Ciampa and Clementina Moccia. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews
Visiting hours will be held of Friday, November 28th from 4 to 8 PM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, and again of Saturday, November 29th at 9 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford St., Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
