It is with great sadness that we announce that Jeanne M. (Guilfoy) Foley, 70, passed away surrounded by her family on November 19, 2025, following courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Jeanne was born on February 6, 1955 and raised in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston. She graduated from Cardinal Cushing High School for Girls and went on to pursue her calling to care for others by attending St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in Brighton, Massachusetts.
A dedicated nurse of 46 years, Jeanne cared for countless patients in a variety of settings before retiring as the Director of Nursing at Bear Mountain of Sudbury in 2021.
Jeanne embodied resilience and quiet strength. She faced challenges with grace and determination, qualities that inspired those around her. As many of her lifelong friends would attest, she was an incredibly thoughtful and caring person with her empathy and understanding defining her character. She never missed an opportunity to send a comforting note or lend an ear to a friend, patient or co-worker in need.
Jeanne found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She cherished time spent with her family and dog, Buddy. She took pride in nurturing her many plants and found joy in feeding the hummingbirds that visited each summer. A devoted fan of Jeopardy!, she rarely missed an episode and enjoyed testing her knowledge alongside the contestants and her family. Jeanne also found peace visiting the beaches of Cape Cod and Rhode Island.
Jeanne is lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years, Stephen; her daughter, Erin; and her son, Tim, and his wife, Shannon. She also leaves behind her siblings Martin, Margaret, Michael, John, Kevin, and Joe, as well as many cherished family members and lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Harry; her brother, Harry; and her beloved son, Stephen.
May Jeanne’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
