Robert McDonald “Mac” Woods, 44, of Ben Hill County, Georgia, died Thursday, November 20, 2025, at his residence surrounded by love.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Monday, November 24, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Wendy Golden and Cooper Golden will deliver eulogies. Interment will follow in Purvis Cemetery, in Coffee County, Georgia. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 4 PM until 6 PM, at the Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald.
Mac was born March 14, 1981, in Douglas, Georgia, to Debbie McDonald Woods & the late George Robert “Bobby” Woods. He graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1999 and was an engineer with CSX Railroad. He attended the Fitzgerald Church of God. He was the man everyone wanted in their corner – loyal to the bone, loud in his laughter, and the spark that lit up every room he walked into. Mac was the life of the party long before life got hard and he kept that fire even in the toughest season. When he wasn’t with his family you could find him outdoors - boots on, rifle in hand, at peace in God’s creation. Hunting wasn’t just a hobby for Mac; it was a part of who he was.
He is survived by his wife, Ronda Spivey Woods; a son, Wyatt Hunter Woods; his mother, Debbie Woods; sisters, Wendy Woods Golden & Adam and Julia Focht; a nephew, Cooper Golden; three nieces: Willow Golden, Maddie Focht and Chelsea Focht; grandmother, Valerie Paulk, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins, including a special aunt, Lisa Frazier.
Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald, is in charge of arrangements.
