Worcester – Maria M. Gonzalez Rodriguez, 77, of Worcester, passed away quietly in her home on Monday, November 17, 2025.
Maria is survived by 8 children, Yolanda Cora of Puerto Rico, Maria Luisa Cora of Florida, Gloria Hernandez of Puerto Rico, Ramon Cochran of South Carolina, Angel Cochran of Worcester, MA, Jose Gonzalez of Holyoke, MA, Jessica Garcia of South Carolina and Jocelyn Rodriguez of Webster, MA; three sisters; 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Maria was born in Arroyo, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Ramon Gonzalez and Carmen Rodriguez and she is also predeceased by a son, Wendell Rodriguez who died in 2016.
Before moving to Worcester from Puerto Rico she worked for many years as a cafeteria worker. Family was at the heart of everything Maria did. She was always cooking and could often be found making meals for her family and neighbors for no reason other than just being nice to others. Maria enjoyed listening to music, playing cards and bingo, but she was the happiest when she was with her family.
Calling hours will be held from 10 AM to 12 Noon on Monday, November 24 in the Dirsa – Morin Memorial Chapel 298 Grafton St. Worcester. Burial will immediately follow in Hope Cemetery.
