Obituary

MOYNIHAN, Mildred Therese (“Terry”), 85, long-time resident of Wellesley, passed away on November 18, 2025. Terry is preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, William Andrew (“Bill’). She is the daughter of Francis P. Riley and Mildred B. Riley (Callahan), both deceased. Terry is survived by her siblings Francine M. Cappella and her husband Paul, Kathleen R. Bryanton and Margaret A. Sullivan, and is preceded in death by her siblings Peter F., John A. and Cecelia B. Riley. She is survived by her three children and their families of whom she was so very proud, Michael Andrew Moynihan, his wife Kala (Klinger) Moynihan and their children, Katie and Andrew, of Chicago, Illinois; Timothy Patrick Moynihan, his wife Elizabeth Barber Moynihan and their children, Ella Bannick and her husband Hunter, William Riley, Clair and Michael, of Greenwood Village, Colorado; and Beth (Moynihan) Renaud, her husband Richard Renaud and their children Lucy and Emma, of Essex, Vermont. She was a cousin, aunt and great-aunt to many and a devoted friend.

Terry’s guiding star was her unwavering Catholic faith and her special devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary. Her love, passion, occupation and earthly devotion were to the members of her family in whom she deeply instilled the values of compassion, empathy, humility and loyalty. Terry’s unconditional love profoundly influenced those who received it and, in her small and humble way, her time on this earth changed the world for the better.

Before relocating to Vermont to be close to her daughter Beth during her final years, Terry was a loyal parishioner for over 50 years at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Wellesley, MA.
