Louis J. Dolce, Sr., 101, died Sunday, November 16, 2025 at the Veteran’s Home in Bristol. He was the husband of Eleanor A. (Pompeii) Dolce, who died in March, 2018. They had been married for 74 years at the time of her death.
Lou was born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elvira (Battista) Dolce. He lived in North Providence after moving from Greenville.
Lou served in the US Coast Guard during WWII. He worked at New England Telephone before retiring in 1988 after 30 years.
He was a member of the Sons of Italy, Ponto Coro Lodge in Johnston, and the Smithfield VFW Balfour Cole Post.
Lou is survived by his son, Louis J. Dolce, Jr. and his wife, Adele of Greenville, his grandchildren: Louis J. Dolce of North Providence, and his granddaughter, Melissa Clesas and her husband Bill, of Johnston and his two great grandchildren: Emily and Nicholas. He was the brother of William Dolce, Lettia Forte and Elda Konicki
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 9:30am in Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Avenue, North Providence. Burial will be private.
