Loyd F. Hughes, age 75, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. He served as a law enforcement officer for the State of Mississippi's Department of Transportation and was the Deputy Sheriff in Yalobusha County for eight years. Mr. Hughes proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was a past member of the First Baptist Church in Coffeeville and a current member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS.
The visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Sunday, September 3, 2006, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and funeral services will be in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks on Monday, September 4, 2006 at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Water Valley, MS.
Mr. Hughes is survived by two daughters, Amanda Camp of Coffeeville, MS and Heather Muirhead of Water Vally, MS; two sons, Loyd Randle "Randy" Hughes of Hernando, MS and Ricky Hughes of Coldwater, MS; four sisters, Amanda Sue Humphreys of Jackson, MS, Elsie Brower of Water Valley, MS, Jane Clayton of Alabama and Ann Fife of Georgia; three brothers, Boyd Hughes of Coffeeville, MS, Claude Allen Hughes of Coffeeville, MS and Ralph Wayne Hughes of Coffeeville, MS; five grandchildren, Grafton Muirhead, Ashley Hoop, Brittany Hoop, David Hughes and Michelle Hughes.
Preceding Mr. Hughes in death were his parents, Claude Garnet and Katie Sue Hughes.
