Michael S. Marum, 74, of Westport, passed away at home on Saturday, November 15, 2025. He was the husband of Gail (Rua) Marum, they shared 47 years of marriage.
Mr. Marum was born in Fall River, the son of the late John and Amelia (Slusarz) Marum, and had resided in Westport since 2004. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served his country during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, he worked for General Dynamics Electric Boat as a machinist for 34 years. He was an avid New England sports fan and runner. He loved listening to music, completing the NY Times crossword puzzle and playing chess. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking. He always looked forward to spending time with his friends at St. John's Club in Fall River.
Survivors along with his wife include his daughter Cara Marum (husband Patrick Quatromini) of Taunton, his son Kyle Marum (wife Meredith Brockriede) of Portland, OR and daughter Kristen Raposo (husband Ryan) of Dighton; two sisters: Kathleen Marum of Fall River and Veronica Holt (husband Richard) of Attleboro; six grandchildren: Leah, Cassidy, Hannah, Henry, Arlo and Iona; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Mathew Marum and Frances Moore.
Visitation will be Monday, November 24, 2025 at the Potter Funeral Home in Westport, MA from 10:30 A.M.-12:00 P.M. A funeral service to which friends and relatives are invited will follow at 12 P.M.
Interment will be private.
