Patricia "Patricia Marie" Frade, 69, a beloved mother, nana, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away at home, gracefully, on November 15, 2025 in Westport, MA following a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.
Born in New Bedford on December 14, 1955, to the late John S. Frade and Loretta M. Frade. She lived life with a sassy spirit and a smile that lit up a room. Following a car accident that left her with a traumatic brain injury, she lived over 40 years with remarkable strength. She is survived by her daughter Rebecca M. Dutra and son-in-law, Jesse, son, Jai Frade, brother, Kevin Frade and sister-in-law Debra Frade and granddaughter Sophia Dutra. Patti also leaves behind a broken-hearted, supportive, group of relatives including her nieces, Kristi, Kara, Kelsey, and Katelyn and many great nieces and nephews and her BFF, Linda, and Areyonna.
She was predeceased by her brother John Frade, Jr.
Patti was exceptionally close to her family and loved nothing more than family gatherings celebrating each holiday, birthday, and other milestones. Her favorite pastimes were watching gameshows, catching sunshine on her face, and eating fresh fish by the ocean.
Patti touched everyone she knew in a deep and profound way. If you ever looked into her eyes and spent any amount of time with her, you've learned the meaning of life. "C'est la vie" and a smile was how she responded to every challenge she endured. She always lived life to the fullest and never missed a chance to say "I love you".
We were fortunate to be with her during her final days while under the loving care of her PCA's Kristi, Linda, Areyonna, and Sofia. Patricia Marie truly embodied the meaning of being strong, being present, and being optimistic even when facing hardships.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a local food pantry or charity in her memory. Patti loved her food and would love for everyone to be well fed.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
