
Raymond Francis Brady, Sr. of Medford, MA, and St. Petersburg, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Ray was the beloved husband of Maureen (Healey) Brady; loving and devoted father of Raymond Brady, Jr. and his wife Elaine, of Peabody; John Brady and his wife Judy, of Medford; Jean Curran and her husband Myles, of Woburn; David Brady and his wife Lorraine, of Melrose; and Bill Brady and his wife Julie, of Medford. Ray was the proud and loving “Papa” to Shawn and his wife Jen; Kristen, Jessica, David, Jillian, Jacqueline, Joseph, MaryKate, Liam and the late Raymond and Brendan. Ray leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren Keegan and Callan Brady. He was the loving and devoted son of the late Raymond and Mary (Connors) Brady; brother of the late Jean McKinnon, and brother-in-law of Patricia LaPierre and Joan Killion. Ray leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends. His presence will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have him in their lives.
Ray spent his childhood growing up in Stoneham and Malden. A proud graduate of Malden High
School, Ray was a great athlete and a true lover of all sports throughout his life. After graduating from high school, Ray served in the Army National Guard for seven years including a period of active duty service during the Korean War era. Ray and Maureen were married on September 6 th , 1953, recently celebrating 72 incredible years of marriage. They were always together and were blessed with a beautiful family. “Papa” as he was known to most, was an extremely devoted family man. He and Nana never missed a game or a performance and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to drive their children and grandchildren to various practices, rehearsals, and school events. Ray and Maureen enjoyed spending winter vacations with close family and friends at their condo in St. Pete’s Beach, along with earlier summers in Rye Beach, NH. Ray and Maureen celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Wentworth by the Sea in New Castle, NH, with their children and grandchildren, something that Papa was so proud to surprise everyone with. All these special places and events hold wonderful memories for the entire Brady Family.
Ray’s exemplary work ethic, loyalty to friends and to family, and devotion to his Catholic faith served as a great example to those who knew him through various stages of his life. Ray enjoyed a 42-year- long career as a proud member of IBEW, Local 104, working as a Lineman at the Massachusetts Electric Company. He was a mentor to many, some of whom would still come visit with him, long after his retirement. Ray was a proud member of the Irish American Club of Malden since its inception, spending many Thanksgiving mornings there, prior to hosting his family for dinner, or attending the local football games.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to visit with the Family on Saturday morning, November 22nd from 9am – 11am at St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am at the Church, directly following the viewing. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Raymond F. Brady, Sr.
