Obituary

In Loving Memory

Matthew ‘Matt’ Blake, age 37, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025, as the result of a motorcycle accident. He passed away doing what he loved — riding his motorcycle along the Rim of the World Scenic Byway in the San Bernardino Mountains.
Born on November 2, 1988, in Salinas, California, Matt brought light, laughter, and heart to everyone who knew him. He had a generous spirit, a quick smile, and a way of making people feel seen and understood. Family was everything to him, and he carried a deep loyalty to those he loved.
Matt proudly served in the United States military from June 2012 to May 2015. After completing his service, he built a career as an IT specialist, a field where he excelled through dedication, skill, and a strong work ethic.
More than anything, Matt loved being a father to his sons, Logan Blake, and his stepsons, Finnegan and Liam Brown. It was the greatest joy of his life. He poured his whole heart into fatherhood—patient, playful, devoted, and proud. Every moment spent with the boys was treasured, and he worked every day to give them love, guidance, and the kind of memories a child carries forever. The bond they shared was deep, joyful, and unbreakable, and Matt’s love for his sons will always remain one of the strongest parts of his legacy.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Brown-Blake; his son, Logan Blake; his stepsons, Finnegan Brown and Liam Brown; his mother, Diane Blake-Kuykendall; his father, Marvin Blake Jr.; his brothers, Steven Blake and Bryan Blake; his sisters, Shelby Blake, Mazie Blake, Christian Blake, and Savanah Blake; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry his memory forward with love.
Matt’s absence leaves a space that can never be filled, but the impact he made—through his kindness, his strength, and the love he gave so freely—will be felt for the rest of our lives.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 25 at 1:00 pm at the BOYKO & REARDON TELEGRAPH ROAD MORTUARY & CREMATION located at 15 Teloma Drive, Ventura, California 93003.
