Obituary

LIMERICK- Robert “Bob” Charles Richardson, age 85, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, with
his family by his side.
Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts on April 3, 1940, he was the son of the late Harold and Annabelle Richardson. Bob graduated from North Andover High School before joining the South Weymouth Naval Air Station, where he proudly served for three years.
Bob married Brenda Spofford and together they had two sons, Todd and Timothy. After moving to Limerick, Maine in 1964, he later remarried Linda Gaspar and welcomed two more sons, Robert “Ricky” and Steven. As a young father, Bob provided for his family by doing whatever honest work needed to be done. He was truly a jack of all trades—delivery driver for a bakery, mechanic for the Limerick Shoe Shop, snowmobile and small-engine repairman, camp maintenance worker, cat groomer, rubbish hauler, professional badminton player, downhill ski champion, roof-shoveler, and the man people called when something was broken and they didn’t know who else to ask.
In time, Bob opened two beloved businesses—Bob’s Dairy Delights and a local laundromat—where he became a familiar face and a steady presence in town. In the early 1980s, Bob took his first contract plowing the roads for Limerick. Not long after, he ran for Road Commissioner and remained in that position with unwavering dedication for 42 years.
Bob was a devoted father, a committed public servant, and a humble man whose instinct was always to say “yes” when someone needed help. He worked tirelessly for his community and his family, and he seemed happiest when he was serving others. A cancer survivor who faced every hardship with quiet strength, he never complained and never slowed down. In the rare moments he allowed himself free time, Bob enjoyed gold prospecting and being outdoors—but most of all, he loved being with his boys.
Bob is predeceased by his beloved grandson, Robert Charles Richardson III, his former wife Linda Gaspar, and his brother Kenneth Richardson.
He is survived by his sons: Todd Richardson Sr. and wife Maria of Pelham, NH; Timothy Richardson Sr. of Haverhill, MA; Robert “Ricky” Richardson and partner Laurie of Limerick; and
Steven Richardson and partner Abby of Limerick. He is also survived by his grandchildren—Todd Richardson Jr. and wife Jeannie, Timothy Richardson Jr. and wife Kim, Victoria Richardson and partner Timothy Milliard, Brielle Donovan, and Tanya Valdes—and his great-grandchildren Vera, Dean, Sophia, and Benjamin. His brother, Paul Richardson and wife Maryann of Andover MA, and former wife Brenda Spofford of Barre VT.
The family takes much comfort knowing Bob has finally found the keys to the El Camino.
