
Leonie Dormeus. Born in Port-au-Prince on May 7, 1933, to Acelia Guerrier and Leon Dormeus, she was a shining light in the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Leonie’s journey began in Haiti, where she attended Madame Dorismon School and Eson, followed by Thomas Madiou. Her faith was an important part of her life, as evidenced by her first communion at the cathedral. She also attended sewing school, nurturing her skills and her love for creating. It was during these formative years that she met her first love, Christopher. Followed by the birth of her beloved children: Yanick, Mireille, Renette, Pierre Richard, Mary Zila, and Patrick.
After moving to the United States in 1981, Leonie continued to pursue her passions and dreams. She studied English at St. Leon School then met her forever love Joseph Isme. Her greatest passion was cooking a gift she shared generously with her family, friends, and everyone around her. Her culinary talents brought joy and comfort to many, and her warmth was felt through every meal she prepared.
Leonie dedicated many years of her life working at the Park Plaza Hotel, where her hard work and dedication were evident until her retirement. Her commitment to her family and her work reflected her strong character and loving nature.
Leonie leaves behind a legacy of love through her loving children: Yanick, Mireille, Renette, Pierre Richard, Mary Zila, and Patrick. Her love extends through her many cherished grandchildren Wenda, Sandra, Mitchelle, Magdala, Mia, Jean, Alexandra ,Fabie, Cherise, Christian, Nerline, Olson, Darline, Frances, Julie, Sabrina, Chimen, Patricia, Katrine, Kristel, Geralda, Stefanie, Patrick Junior, and Nayele and her great-grandchildren: Noelle Yasir, Jeff, Celeste, Devon, Christine, Alexander,Marcus, M.J, and her adored great-great-grandchildren: Myah, Jean-Alyse ,DJ, Gia, Paris, J. Gabriel ,Makaila, Ezra, Marlie, Maximillion,Julian, Charles, Josiah, Jadian, Hakeem, Daari and Papash. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit, her warmth, and her love.
Leonie’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and dedication. She touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts. Today, we honor her memory, her kindness, and her unwavering love for her family.
May her soul rest peacefully, knowing she was cherished beyond words.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing hour on Saturday November 29, 2025 from 8-9 AM followed by a Religious Service from 9-11 AM in Boston Missionary Baptist Church, 336 Dudley Street, Roxbury, MA. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, 427 Cummins Highway, Roslindale, MA.
