
Albert “Dewey” Taylor, 71, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, November 15, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Prospect Baptist Church in Ben Hill County, Georgia, with the Rev. Cliff Christman and the Rev. Sammy Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.
Mr. Taylor was born July 1, 1954, in Wray, Georgia, to the late Hugh Dorsey “Jack” & Doris Carmichael Taylor. He owned and operated Taylor House Moving for many years. He loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed farming and working on his tractors. Mr. Taylor was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with them all. He will be remembered as a hard worker who imparted many life lessons through hands-on teaching. He was a member of Prospect Baptist Church and dearly loved Jesus, “Thank You, Lord”.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mildred Adair Taylor; sons: Norman Dewey “Peanut” Taylor, Jason Wade Taylor & Melissa, and Jonathan Lee Taylor & Lindsey; grandchildren: Emory Taylor, Kailey Taylor, Jasmine Taylor, Anthony Taylor, Cotton Taylor, and Brent Taylor; a great-grandson, Waylon Taylor; a sister, Kay & Bo Langston; two brothers: Hugh D. & Renee Taylor and James & Lisa Taylor; an aunt, Shirley Nell Carmichael Hunter of Pelham; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and brothers-in-law. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Albert D. Taylor and William Brent Taylor; two sisters: Evelyn Taylor and Annette Gordon; and a brother, Larry “Snap” Taylor.
