WESTBROOK- Robert I. Young, known lovingly as Bob, was born in Pennsylvania on July 22, 1940. He was fostered in his youth by the late Hershey and Anna Mary Myer and raised on the Myer family farm. There his life and faith were deeply shaped. He was profoundly grateful to Hershey, Anna Mary, and the family for being a pivotal part of his life.
In his twenties, Bob moved to Massachusetts, where he married Bonnie, with whom he had three children: Robert Jr., Pamela, and Gwyndeline.
His second marriage was to Cynthia Yeaton, and together they raised three sons: Eric, Rob, and Kevin. He also leaves behind grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family members who will remember and miss him.
In his professional life, Bob served as a maintenance director for a psychiatric hospital in Massachusetts for decades and later for restaurants and office buildings after moving to Maine. Over the years, he grew his side business, "RIYCO," completing a wide variety of home repairs, building renovations, and additions.
Throughout his life, Bob was remembered as someone who was knowledgeable in many trades, and there seemed to be no project he couldn't complete.
He enjoyed being outdoors and exploring new destinations in the camper with family.
Bob would do anything to help anyone wherever and whenever the need arose.
Most of all, Bob would want to be remembered for being witty, humble, and selfless, surrounded by family, friends, and those he loved.
Bob passed away on November 15th, 2025. At his request, there will be no funeral service.
