Christine June (McSheehy) Caron passed away on November 14, 2025, at Saint Vincent Hospital after a prolonged illness, with the comfort of her family surrounding her. She leaves her husband, Robert S. Caron of Holden; her son, Robert R. Caron, and his wife, Jennifer, and their children Brody, Tyler and Chloe of Bolton; and her daughter, Michelle Caron, and her son Wyatt of Holden. She also leaves her sisters and their families: Wida and Ronald Dionne of Shrewsbury; Barbara and James Kattany of Marlboro; Beverly and Michael McGrath of Worcester; and Marylin and Andrew Asare of Worcester. She was predeceased by her sister Karen O’Leary and her husband, John, of Worcester. She leaves many nieces and nephews, who, together with her children and grandchildren, were the shining stars of her life.
Christine was born on November 15, 1956, to Marjorie (Johnson) and Bartholomew McSheehy. Her favorite childhood memories were visiting her grandparents, Wida (Nana) and Erhard (Mussie) Johnson, at their farm on Sunderland Road in Worcester. Throughout her life, she felt a strong connection to her Swedish and Irish heritage and to her ancestors. She graduated from Burncoat High School in 1975 and went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant, working in nursing homes caring for her beloved elderly patients. She later served in the Emergency Room at the UMass Medical Center on Lake Avenue for many years. She took great pride in her work and provided compassionate care for patients in their most desperate times of need. She applied those same skills and compassion to caring for her own mother in her mother’s final years.
Her favorite places to visit included the Old Stone Church in West Boylston, Massachusetts, and the Nubble Lighthouse in York Beach, Maine. Among her most cherished memories was a trip to Ireland with her son and daughter, where she toured the western counties. Christine loved being in nature, being by the ocean, and being with her family.
Christine will be remembered for her radiant energy, beautiful smile, unyielding generosity, and her free spirit. She was the fun aunt to her nieces and nephews - always making people laugh and jumping in to play and dance with the kids. Her gift was her ability to love unconditionally and deeply, which she shared with both her family and her patients – but especially with her children and grandchildren. Christine was a singularly loving and caring mother and truly felt that being a mother was her calling. She celebrated her grandchildren, adored them, and spoiled them at every opportunity. Christine’s legacy of love and kindness will live on in all who knew her.
Family and friends are welcome to join funeral services, which will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street in Worcester, on Friday, November 21, at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Wachusett Greenways charity in Christine’s name: https://www.wachusettgreenways.org/wordpress/
