Joan Elaine Berthold, 83, of Sutton MA passed away from surgical complications on October 30, 2025.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Conrad Berthold; children Ellen Laderman and Frank Berthold; grandson Paul Laderman; son-in-law Abraham Laderman; siblings Marilyn Blaker, Elizabeth McCall, and Robert Tuck; and many loving relatives and friends.
Joan was known for her sharp wit, love of humor, and creative spirit. A culinary school graduate, skilled craftswoman, and gardener. She baked countless celebratory cakes and handmade candies that brought joy to many.
Alongside her husband, she ran a successful wood turning business from their home, producing custom pieces shipped nationwide.
Her greatest joy came from time spent with family, especially her grandson Paul. Joan will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A celebration of her life will be held on December 14, 2025, stop in between 1–4 PM at the Whitin Community Center.
