Daniel W. Carroll, 79, of Lowell, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025.
Born in Lowell on December 9, 1945, he was the son of the late James F. and Margaret T. (Cavanaugh) Carroll]. He was educated at Sacred Heart School and graduated from Lowell High School.

Dan lived a life marked by perseverance, integrity, and quiet strength. His candid humor, thoughtful wisdom, and steadfast character touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Throughout his life, he exemplified an unwavering work ethic and a deep sense of pride in every endeavor. His career included serving as a fire engineer on steam boilers, a driver for the Mitre Corporation, a tree foreman for the City of Lowell, and later a security officer at Madison Security. In every position, Dan took great pride in his work. His dedication earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

Dan found joy outdoors, whether fishing on a quiet afternoon, snowmobiling through the winter woods of Maine, or spending time with his faithful canine companion (Daisy). He cherished being active and close to nature throughout his life.

In his later years, Dan found comfort, belonging, and love within his chosen family. To them, he was far more than a friend, he was a grandfather figure and was family. He embraced their families as his own, sharing in holidays, family dinners, stories, and spirited games of cribbage. He took delight in his daily lottery numbers and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Boston Red Sox.

His legacy is one of hard work and devotion to the people he cherished, qualities that will continue to inspire all who knew him. His legacy endures in the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.
