Obituary

In Loving Memory of Catherine Anna Kuzmich

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Anna Kuzmich, age 91, on November 9, 2025, surrounded by family throughout the day. Born on September 27, 1934, in Boston, Catherine was a remarkable woman, resilient and strong-willed.

A graduate of South Boston High School, Catherine later attended Massasoit Community College. She dedicated over 25 years of her life to Polaroid Corporation and later worked at Fidelity Investments for many years before retiring.

Catherine was a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Marines at Quantico, VA, and in the U.S. Navy Reserves. She was a member of the Pelham American Legion Post #100, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Women’s Marines Association of MA.

Catherine was the daughter of Alexander Kumich and Anna Kuzmich O’Neill, and a devoted sister to her late siblings Mary Whitaker, Alexander Kuzmich, William Kuzmich, and Helen Lamparelli.

She was known for her contagious laugh, her love for the Boston Bruins, her love for her grandchildren, ballroom dancing, and swapping recipes. All felt her warmth and generosity, and she had an exceptional talent for making everyone feel at home.

Catherine leaves behind her daughter, Audrey Catherine DeSisto, Andy Kuzmich, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Pamela Ann Whelchel, who left this world too soon, and whose memory continues to shine brightly.

A memorial service to honor Catherine’s life will take place on November 15, 2025, at 2:00 -4:00 PM at Casper Funeral Home in Boston, Massachusetts. Instead of flowers, we invite you to contribute to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA).
