William B. Bishop, 80, of the Lands Crossing Community, Irwin County, Georgia, died Sunday, November 9, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Interment will be private in the Bishop Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mr. Bishop was born May 4, 1945, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late William Barney & Minnie Fussell Bishop. He served in the Georgia National Guard and was a farmer and heavy equipment operator. Mr. Bishop owned and operated Bishop Site Prep. He lived his entire life on the family farm and was a hard-working man. Mr. Bishop was a member of CFI.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cathy J. Bishop of the Lands Crossing Community; two daughters: Pam & Rex Johnson and Amy Bishop; grandchildren: Chet Johnson & Sara, Eli Johnson and Libba, and Willa C. Bishop; two great-granddaughters: Finley Johnson and Everly Johnson; a sister, Ginger & Orvis Jarchow; sisters-in-law: Rachel Bishop and Janice Bishop. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: John W. Bishop and Zeke Bishop.
