BROWNFIELD- Eugene A. "Beetle" Burnell, 90, of Brownfield, ME, passed away peacefully at Memorial Hospital in North Conway, on November 07, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Eugene was born September 10th,1935 to Bernice (Johnson) and Millard Burnell of Brownfield Maine.
He lived the whole 90 years in Brownfield Me, where he raised his family.
While growing up he loved hunting, fishing and trapping with his brothers, and oh what stories they could tell.
He was a Very hardworking man, jack of all trades, from surveying land to building his home, and so many other talents.
Eugene was Married to Helen (Williams) they had 3 children, Randy Burnell & Wife Diane, April Perreault & Husband Ernest Jr. and Melissa Burnell.
Gene had 5 Grandchildren (Marina, Alison, Abby, Timothy & Bobbi-Jean) 11 great grandchildren (Jen, Kenzie, Chase, Tyler, Jorden, CJ,
Mya, Ella, Avery, Olivia & Timmy) and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Gene is Predeceased by his Wife, Mother & Father, Sister Thelma, Brothers Junior, Wallace, Phil, Norman and Horace.
Gene is Survived by his Children, Grandchildren, Great grandchildren, Great-Great grandchildren, many Nieces & Nephews ,and his Brother Keith.
Gene worked for 30 years as a foreman for DOT in Fryeburg Maine, his supervisor in Dixfield, gave him the name (Mr.Dot).
He worked many other places before then, where he met and made many good friends along the way.
Everywhere he went there were people he knew and it didn't matter where he was, it's amazing how many people through his life he left an impression on in 90 years.
We would like to thank Hospice of New Hampshire, his Nurses Lisa and Rachel for coming to his home for the short time he had, The ER Staff at Memorial for keeping our dad comfortable very quickly, Plus the Hospital staff that were amazing in the support and comforting care that our dad and all of us received, especially
Dr. Hamilton and his only Nurse Sarah, you are all Loving caring people. Thank You all so very much.
There will be no services just a graveside gathering at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Brownfield, a date & time will be posted.
