CHICOPEE – Lynda D. (Gelinas) Landry, 78, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, November 6, 2025. She was born in Holyoke, MA on June 16, 1947, a beloved daughter of the late Gerald L. Gelinas and Ruth L. (Laliberte) Lamothe. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School and had lived in Chicopee her entire life. She furthered her education and received an Associate’s Degree from Holyoke Community College. She was employed as a Teacher’s Aide for the Chicopee School Department. She was a member of The Kingdom Hall for Jehovah's Witnesses in Chicopee. During her leisure time, she enjoyed painting murals and had a great love of animals. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She leaves her two loving children, Laura-Leigh Gelinas of South Hadley and Matthew Rene Landry of Chicopee; her four cherished grandchildren who will deeply miss their “Nina” and “Meme”, Samantha Gelinas and her husband, Peter, of Longmeadow, Christian D. Landry of Chicopee, Kasandra Jo Akiva and her husband, Isaac, of Boston and Nickolas Denehy and his wife, Dixie, of Springfield; her five cherished great grandchildren, Kendall, Sawyer and Adelaide Gelinas, Ariella Akiva and Emmitt Denehy; her dear sister, Donna Covelusky of Pottsville, PA; her dear brother, Gerald “Butch” Gelinas of Westfield; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two dear brothers, Daniel and David Gelinas. Her funeral services and burial will be private. There are no visiting hours.
