James C. Fitzpatrick, 85 years, died Friday morning at the Brockton Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Winchester and raised in Woburn, son of the late Peter and Mary (O’Melia) Fitzpatrick, he was a graduate of Keith Academy in Lowell and attended Suffolk University. Mr. Fitzpatrick was a veteran of WWII who served in the United States Coast Guard. He had been employed at Sears and Roebuck for 40 years retiring in 1986 as a Division Manager at the Brockton store. He was a member of DW Field Golf Course for many years, traveled extensively and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marion D. (Smith) Fitzpatrick, three daughters Maureen Martes of S. Easton; Kathleen Richardson of Piedmont, CA; Eileen Strasser of Stratham, NH; one son James Fitzpatrick of Charlton and nine grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Ellen Donovan and Marie Haverty.
