Jeffery Alan Mims, 62, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Crosspointe Baptist Church, formerly known as Callie Garbutt, with the Rev. Justin McCrimmon officiating. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary, beginning at 1 PM.
Mr. Mims was born January 2, 1963, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Hoke Smith Mims & Joan Annie Greengrass Mims. He was a machine operator in the forestry industry and was a very independent, hardworking man. Mr. Mims enjoyed playing the drums and was a jokester. He was a great father, and he loved his family.
He is survived by his two children: Shane Mims & Katie Merritt of Fitzgerald and Kristen Fiklik & Ken of Fitzgerald; 10 grandchildren and two siblings: Carol Hulett and Dale Mims. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Velma Lott Mims and a sister, Coralee Simmons.
