Obituary

Jennifer Lee Blocher, aged 40, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 in Worcester, Massachusetts. She resided in Millbury, Massachusetts with her partner and her son.

Jennifer was born on September 30, 1985 in North Carolina to Jennie Brummer and William Blocher, where she lived until the age of three, at which time the family moved to Massachusetts. Jennifer attended Oak Meadow Montessori, St Peter’s Central, and Notre Dame Academy of Worcester MA where she graduated in 2004. She also attended Massachusetts College of Art and Design from 2004 to 2009, studying fine arts and metal working.

Jennifer had a lifelong love of creative arts, particularly drawing, sculpture and painting. She loved to bring her imagination and fantasy creatures to life with her artistic skills. She observed earth-based spirituality and religious traditions most aligned with paganism and wicca, which also found expression through her love of gardening and caring for nature. She loved all creatures and was an accomplished equestrian. Jennifer was always a fierce advocate for fixing injustice. She believed strongly in American Democracy, was always a safe place for the LGBTQ community, and she loved her family-- both the one she was born with and the one she made. She was captivated by fantasy, soothed by rituals, and nourished with connection.

Jennifer is survived by her son, Kai Belford, age 14, partner Gerard Cardinal, mother Jennie Brummer her partner Christopher Ives, father William Blocher his wife Karen, brother Robert Blocher his wife Alison Blocher, grandfather David Blocher, aunts Heather Brummer, Julie Brummer, Margaret Blocher, uncles Simon Brummer, Jeff Eichstedt and multiple cousins.
