Deborah Jong Hee Cho, 79, most recently of Westborough, Massachusetts, passed away on Wednesday, October 29th.
She is survived by her beloved younger sister Ann Kim and Ann’s kind husband Ken, as well as her 67-year-old motorcycle-ride-thru-Croatia baby brother Benjamin Hong and his generous wife Sunhi. Deborah adored all of them, especially as their love and support were her constant companions through a complicated health journey.
Deborah was known for her fierce loyalty, and yes, her flawless skin. No K-beauty serums or 12-step routines required—she simply glowed. Meanwhile, her two sons, David and Daniel Cho, continue to age . . . let’s say less like wine, and more like milk. Despite their lackluster skincare routines, her sons were her immense pride and joy, and they were devoted to her to the very end.
She was endlessly proud of her grandsons Lancaster (13) and Dominic (11), who live in sunny Los Angeles with their devoted mom, Lisa. And Deborah cherished the kisses and antics from her Massachusetts-based grandchildren Tristan (15) and Devyn (14), who—along with their mom, Cecille—provided both random and routine acts of love on a daily basis.
Deborah’s heart never fully healed after losing her husband of 52 years, Richard Cho, just four months ago. Together, they built businesses, broke conventional rules, and raised a family that learned to take risks, serve others, and always choose love. She often said she was ready to be by his side again—and now, she is.
Mom, we miss you but we will honor you by living boldly, loving deeply, and maybe moisturizing a little more often. You and Dad leave behind a legacy of devotion, grit, and a family of troublemakers ;)
