Mr. Anthony “Tony” D. Long, a resident of Medford for more than 20 years, died at Lahey Clinic Hospital in Burlington on Thursday morning, August 30, 2006. He was 48 years old. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Collins) Long.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 13, 1958, he was the son of Kate L. (Brown) and the late Charles F. Long. Mr. Long was a graduate of the Gifford High School in Weston. He had worked many years as a security guard. Tony was a real family person and enjoyed playing basketball and loved his classic cars.
Besides his beloved wife, Patricia, he will be sorely missed by his loving children; Anthony J. Long and Kavona S. Long, both of Medford, brother; Charles “Chuck” F. Long of Medford, aunt; Dorothy Perkins of Georgia, uncles; Charlie Johnson of Georgia, James Mitchell of Georgia Norman Smith of Georgia and Fitcher Smith of Colorado and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His funeral service was celebrated in the West Medford Baptist Church, 59 Boston Avenue, Medford, Tuesday, September 5, 2006, at noon. Visitation was at the church, prior to the service, from 11 AM to noon. Many relatives and friends attended. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
