Obituary

Anna M. (Breault) Gallagher, 99, of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at D’Youville Senior Care. She was the widow of the late George F. Gallagher who passed away in 1997 after 49 years of marriage.

She was born in Lowell and was a daughter of the late William and Florence (Gray) Breault. She was raised in Lowell where she attended the area schools. She made her home in the Highlands Neighborhood before retiring to the sunshine of Largo, Florida. Then, at the age of 85, she packed up her home in Largo and moved back up to Lowell where she welcomed family and made new friends at her new home at Bruyere Gardens.

Anna enjoyed knitting and reading, and she cherished the time spent socializing with the many friends she made over the years. Above all, she treasured every moment shared with her family. She was a fun loving, sociable and independent woman who will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was a past member of Mount Pleasant Golf Club in Lowell; sang in Saint Margaret of Scotland Parish’s Choir in Lowell and in Saint Patrick’s Church Choir in Largo.

She is survived by her daughters, Katherine Stalker and her husband, Steve and Eileen Emerson and her husband, Robert. She is also survived by her 9 loving grandchildren, Scott Stalker and his wife, Malerie, Amy Stalker, Kristin Stalker, Joe Emerson and his former wife, Tara Cullen, Jeff Emerson and his wife, Jill, Annie Sloan and her husband Colin, Justin Kremm of Oregon and Ben Gallagher of Minnesota. Additionally she leaves behind 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She was predeceased by her sons, Thomas, Gerald and Michael Gallagher, her daughter, Mary Ann Heuser, her grandson Jared Gallagher and her granddaughter Ashleigh Heuser.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Summit Healthcare, Bruyere Gardens and D’Youville Life & Wellness Community for their care, compassion and dedication during Anna’s final years. Their devotion to what they do allowed her to live her final days with respect And pass away with dignity.

On Monday, November 3, 2025 all are welcome to attend her funeral mass at 10 a.m. at Saint Margaret of Scotland Parish, 374 Stevens Street, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the D'Youville Foundation, 981 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, MA 01854.
