Mary Charlotte (LaDuke) Pepin, 85 of Chicopee, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday October 22nd 2025; after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Grace (Burke) LaDuke of Chicopee. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend to many. Mom was the heart and soul of her family. She was a neighborhood “mom” to many in Sheridan Circle. She took great pride in being the mother of nine children and the second oldest of twelve siblings.
Mary loved sporting events and could always be found watching her kids and grandkids playing various sports or watching her favorite teams on television. In her younger years she loved to play sports and enjoyed bowling. Mom was a talented cake decorator for many years, always making sure we had the best birthday cakes growing up. She loved to plan fun and adventurous trips with her grandchildren and any other kids that wanted to come along. In her final years she always had one of her “babies” in her arms, nothing made her happier than seeing babies! She also loved a good card game or a trip to the casino would always put a smile on her face.
Mary is survived by her children, Mary Beth Lopez (Jose), Shelley Edler (Chris), Dave, Rick (Jenn), Tom (Linda), and Denise Noble (Matt). As well as her grandchildren Krystenlee (Justin), Jessica (Frank), Alex, Adam, Lindsay, Katie (Matt) and great-grandchildren Melia, Lilian, and Willow. She is also survived by her siblings Anne, Sue, Ruth, Janet, Jim, Bill, Don, Kathy, Lynn and Jean, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Mary was predeceased by her husband Dave in 2008, her sons Joey in 1998, Jimmy in 2020 and Danny in 1973 as well as her grandsons Ricky in 2013 and Daniel in 2024. She was also predeceased by her sister Betty in 2024.
Mary’s family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Valley Rehabilitation in South Hadley for wonderful care she received over the last couple years, especially to Vicky, Carlos, Jeanette, Melissa, Brittany, and Grace as well as Damaris from hospice.
Mary retired from the City of Chicopee as the Deputy Tax Collector in 2010 after 28 years of dedicated service.
