Elizabeth M. (Peckham) Amaral, 100, of South Dartmouth, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at The Oaks. She was the widow of August L. Amaral.
Mrs. Amaral was born in Westport, daughter of the late Dorothy Peckham and had resided in Dartmouth for most of her life. She graduated from Westport High School and F.G. Allen Business School in Fall River.
She was a member of Allen's Neck Friends Meeting House in S. Dartmouth. She was also a member of Allen's Neck Community Club, Allen's Neck Senior Fellowship Club, the South Shore Antique Auto Club and Friends of the Dartmouth Library.
Mrs. Amaral was a secretary at Green's Storage Warehouse in Fall River for many years. She was custodian at Allen's Neck Friends Meeting until her retirement in 2007. She was also a domestic worker.
She loved gardening, cooking and handiwork and for ten years, helped maintain a food and cut-flower stand.
Survivors include two brothers: Richard Peckham and Robert Peckham, both of Westport; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Edward G. Peckham.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, October 31, 2025 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Thursday from 4-6 P.M.
Interment in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, New Bedford.
