GILFORD ---- Robert M. Larson, Sr., 93, of Cross Lane, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, NH.
Robert was born on February 21, 1932, in Melrose, MA, the son of the late Robert B. Larson and Alice (Allen) Larson.
In his youth, Bob loved boating and fishing with his father and friends in Boston Harbor and along the coast. Later in life, he continued his love of boating with his own son and daughter on Lake Winnipesaukee where they vacationed every year on Locke’s Island. He always had a boat to patrol the lake, loved water skiing and enjoyed an early morning ride on the jet ski.
He and his wife built their retirement home in Gilford where he took great pride in caring for his expansive lawn and doing maintenance around his home. You would often see him on his riding lawn mower cutting the grass, raking leaves in the fall, and plowing his driveway in the winter well into his 90’s. There was nothing he couldn’t fix or build and he completed many woodworking projects. He was a skilled carpenter.
Robert was a life-long tractor trailer driver and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He finished his career at Arlington Coal and Lumber where his son was also employed. They shared this common bond.
Most of all, Bob loved his family beyond all else and always put them first and foremost and took great pride in their many accomplishments. His home was always the favorite spot for the many family gatherings celebrating birthdays, graduations, and holidays, where the food was always plentiful and prepared with love. His granddaughter, Lisa, was his pride and joy.
He and his wife recently commemorated their 76th wedding anniversary. Over the years they enjoyed travels to Florida, California and Hawaii.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 76 years, Ailene (Hogan) Larson, son Robert Larson, Jr., and his wife Donna, daughter Lynda Nadolny and her husband Steven, granddaughter Lisa Nadolny and brother John Gatley and his wife Donna.
A time of sharing will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 10:00am-11:00am, in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
Burial will immediately follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Belknap Mountain Road, Gilford, NH 03249.
