Donnie Wesley Scott, Sr., 57, of Tifton, died Thursday, August 31, 2006, at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Randall Gay will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Tommy W. Griffin, Linc Griffin, Joe Tawzer, Joe Barnes, Craig Dixon and Audtin Dixon will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 1, 2006, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Scott was born on December 23, 1948 in Tifton and was the son of John Thomas Scott and Annie Rakestraw Scott, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jo Ann Scott. He was a retired carpenter.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Jane Hines Scott of Tifton; two sons and one daughter-inlaw: Donnie, Jr. and Missy Scott of Poulan and Chris Rousey of Tifton; one step-son, Michael Mitchum of Tifton; one daughter and son-inlaw, Nikki and William King of Tifton; two step-daughters, Ann Cook of Tifton and Hope Lovin Barbee of Tifton; two brothers and one sister-in-law, John and Jeanett Scott of tifton and Michael Scott of Sea Island; and nine grandchildren, Jonathan King, Ashley King, Laken King, Jasmine Cook, Madison Cook, Kirsten Cook, Gray Lovin, Rose Barbee and Madison Scott.
