Obituary

Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Frobese, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Lowell General Hospital, just after being surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. She was the widow of the late Ernest J. Frobese.

Born on August 23, 1941, in her family home in Dracut, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (Dickenson) Scanlon. Elizabeth grew up and was educated in Dracut before settling in Lowell as a young adult, where she built her home and raised her family.

Betty was known for her kind and caring nature, her sense of humor, and her easy laugh. She was an honest, good-hearted person who loved the simple things in life, especially a good iced coffee and the companionship of animals. For 25 years, she worked as a bus driver for Road Runner, proudly serving the elderly and those in need. Her compassion and reliability made her beloved by those she transported and those she worked alongside.

Betty's life was one of quiet strength, kindness, and love, qualities that will live on through all those who were lucky enough to know her.

She is survived by her children, William Cooper of Lowell, Carol West of Hopkinton, NH, and John White Jr. and his wife Pam of Conway, SC; her seven grandchildren, Michael Noel, Misty Johnson, Alea Kenney, Cynthia Poitras, Brittany Poitras, Jonathan White, and Justin White; and her eight great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her endless joy.

Elizabeth also leaves behind her sisters, Rose Cornell and her husband Freddy of Templeton, MA, and Jane Couch of Winchendon; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

She was predeceased by her children, Charles Cooper IV and Elizabeth Poitras, and by her brother, David T. Scanlon.

You are welcome to attend her visitation on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 10am until 11am at the Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, MA, her funeral Service will take place in the funeral home at 11 am followed by procession to Saint Patrick Cemetery.
