Kathleen B. Collins, 80, of Londonderry, NH, died Tuesday October 21, 2025 in the Cedar View Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Methuen, MA. She was born in Chelsea, MA on November 15, 1944, the daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy (Birch) Cross. She had been a resident of Londonderry for the past 44 years, formerly living in Westford, MA. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Cambridge, MA. Kathleen had been employed as a clerk for Digital Equipment Corporation in Salem, NH. She was a communicant of St. Mark the Evangelist Church in Londonderry. She was a talented and dedicated home baker. Kathleen loved the music of John Denver and like him, was happiest outdoors. She was an avid hiker and climbed many of the White Mountains, including Mount Washington three times. Growing up, she spent every summer with her dear cousin Betsy at the family cottage on Beaver Lake.
Kathleen treasured her friendships and always gave of herself to them. She could be counted on to take a walk, give advice, or just listen. Kathleen loved to laugh and had a quick wit herself.
She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Collins, of Londonderry; her daughter, Kimberly A. Collins and her husband Jim Capobianco of Oakland, CA; her son, Robert J. Collins Jr. and his wife Jenny of Stevenson Ranch, CA; her sister-in-law Patti Mullen; as well as three grandchildren, Zazie, Elodie and Zachary. She was predeceased by her brother, Henry Cross.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 5th from 4 - 6pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 6th at 10:30am in St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 1 South Rd., Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital.
