
David Nelson Simmons, 57, of the West Berrien Community passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at his residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for David at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2025, at Lawrence Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Rickey Wells will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mark Babcock, Thomas Boyd, Chris Boyd, Ryan Barfield, Dwayne Benefield and Patrick Roberts will serve as pallbearers.
Born October 25, 1967, in Plant City, Florida, David was the son of the late Wallace Nelson Simmons and Mary Ann Wood Goff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Rhonda Goff. He worked in pipeline construction for T. B. Landmark in Jacksonville, Florida; and he was of the Baptist faith. David was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish and go camping.
David is survived by his wife, Rhonda Winona Jackson Simmons of the West Berrien Community; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Steven Jackson, Lance and Kayla Jackson and Michael and Caitlyn McFarland, all of Tifton; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Maricia and Johnny Thomas of Homerville, Rosa and Steven Kowatch of Alachua, Florida and Shameka Johns of North Carolina; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Jerry Simmons of Old Town, Florida and Travis and Jessica Goff of Callahan, Florida; one sister, Cindy Burliegh of Callahan, Florida; sixteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
