Sau Lan “Louise” Chin, 94, of Smithfield, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Sik Jom “Roy” Chin.
Born in Taishan, Guangzhou, China, she was a longtime resident of Smithfield, Rhode Island. Together with her husband, she owned and operated the China Garden restaurant in North Providence for many years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son Chung Chin and his wife Yuk Mee of Smithfield; her daughters Tina Creamer of Coventry, and Dorothy Chin Gerding and her husband Stephen Gerding of Smithfield.
She was the cherished grandmother of Arnold Chin, Gloria Chin, Corey Creamer, Chelsea Creamer-Gervasio, Sienna Chin Gerding, and Keira Chin Gerding; and the great-grandmother of Indiana Creamer, Coyote Creamer, Avery Gervasio, and Parker Gervasio. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 9-11am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, RT 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will follow.
