June Travers Galvin, 86, of Derry, NH passed away at Granite VNA Hospice of Concord, NH, Friday October 17, 2025, after a period of declining health. June was born February 13, 1939 in Peabody, MA and was a daughter of the late Henry S. and Mary O. (Mello) Travers. She was raised in Danvers, MA prior to relocating to Derry when she was young. She attended local schools and was a resident of Derry most of her life.
June was a great cook and loved to knit for the family. She was an employee of Weight Watchers at one time. June and her husband helped to run the AWANA youth group through Calvary Baptist Church for many years. June was very spiritual and could often be seen in the early morning reading scripture.
Members of the family include two children and their spouses, her son Francis C. (Joanne) Galvin, daughter, Karen E. (James E.) McCue, five grandchildren, Joshua (Aimee) Joki, Justin (Brieanna) Galvin, Jennifer Galvin, Emily-Cate (Stephen) Sample, and Gretchen Joki, 11 great grandchildren, Sedona, Clive, Sawyer, Russell, Victoria June, Evelyn, Ryan, Emalaine, Jeffrey and Joseph, with two more on the way, and her sister, Joyce Morin. June was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Frank F. Galvin, Jr., who passed in 2022 and her sister Carolyn Emerson in 2024.
Calling hours will be Tuesday October 21, 2025, from 5 to7 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street Derry. A funeral service will be held Wednesday October 22, 2025, at 10 am in the funeral Home, burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Hampstead Road in E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
