Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Timothy Louis Champoux, 78, of Saab Court in Springfield was Called Safely Home on Sunday, September 7, 2025. He passed peacefully into Eternal Life surrounded by the love of his family at the Harmony House in Chicopee. He was born in Springfield on November 21, 1946, son of the late Louis and Muriel (Cote) Champoux. He was raised and educated in Springfield and was a resident of the city for most of his life. He served his country in the United States Navy. Timothy was an accomplished artist and oil painter, a vocation he truly loved. He was proud to have had his work displayed at Tower Square in downtown Springfield. Though he was a private person, Tim touched the lives of many with his talent. He leaves his two sisters, Claire Champoux of Enfield, CT, and Mary Ellen Stevens and her husband, Roger, of West Springfield; his two brothers, Brother Brian Champoux, OFM Cap. of the Saint Pius X Friary in Middletown, CT, and Daniel Champoux of Plymouth, MA; his nephews, nieces, friends, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Frederick Champoux who was Called Home on December 12, 2014. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Committal Service with United States Navy Military Honors following the Mass at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109 (please meet in Section ~ Holy Family A).
