Obituary

Lydia L. Procaccini, 71, of Clarence Street, Cranston, passed away on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, in her home. She was the devoted wife of the late John “Otto” Procaccini.

She was born in Providence, a daughter of the late John V. and Dolores (Russo) Silvestri. She had lived in Cranston, previously living in Providence and Smithfield.

Lydia had worked in the jewelry industry for many years before finding her true calling, working as a caregiver. Lydia had lived a life defined by compassion and generosity. As a beloved aunt, she helped raise her nephew, George Veader, and was like a second mother to her niece and nephew, Caryn and Kevin Cormier.

Lydia found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She will be remembered for her selflessness, her quick wit, and her sense of humor.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Ann J. Veader and Carla Barr. She leaves her siblings, Joe White of Smithfield, Helen (Eric) Bordan of Providence, Richard (Deborah) Silvestri of Smithfield, John (Lisa) Silvestri of Smithfield, Deborah (Ted) Cormier of Warwick, Carl Silvestri of Smithfield, Christopher (Kimberly) Silvestri of Tennesse, and Ronald Silvestri of Smithfield, her Nephew George (Tammi) Veader of Fall River MA, and many other nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 21st, at 10 am in the Anderson-Winfield, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th, from 4-7pm.
