Francis “Cliff” Thompson of Mission Hill, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 12, 2025. He was the loving son of the late John and Theresa (Murphy) Thompson.
Cliff was the beloved brother of John Thompson and the late Geraldine (Thompson) DeCelle. Dear brother-in-law of Madelyne Thompson and the late Ronald DeCelle.
He was a cherished uncle to Karen Hanley, John Thompson and his wife Ann Marie, Ronald Thompson and his late wife Donna Landry, and Theresa Aleman and her husband Victor.
He was a proud great uncle to Siobhan Thompson, Shane Thompson, Devin Thompson, Kelly Green, Stephanie Hanley, Edward Hanley, Stacy Landry, David Landry, Emily Aleman, Matthew Aleman and Laura Aleman.
He was a great- great uncle to several other Hanley, Green, Daly, Thompson and Shearion nieces and nephews.
Cliff was a beloved cousin of Eileen Fitzgerald and the late Marie (Maguire) Power and many other Fitzgerald and Power cousins.
Cliff was an Army veteran and a hardworking truck driver throughout much of his life. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends for his kind heart, sense of humor, and loving nature.
Visiting hours at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Thursday, October 23 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Friday, October 24 at 8:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Mission Church) 1545 Tremont St. Boston at 10 a.m. Interment St Joseph Cemetery.
