Molly Gibbs King, 95, passed away peacefully on Oct 8, 2025 in Lenox, Massachusetts. Molly was born on May 1, 1930 to Dr. Charles and Blanche Gibbs in Rochester, New York. Molly graduated from Mount Holyoke College.
In 1951 she married Dr. Robert B. King. They raised their family in Syracuse, New York.
Molly was driven by serving others. She was a volunteer at Meals on Wheels, a member of the Junior League, P.E.O., Portfolio, Woman Transcending Boundaries and an active member of Dewitt Community Church.
She worked at Regional Learning Center, Syracuse University and Moses Dewitt Elementary School.
Molly adored her family and friends. She loved to gather people around her, learn new things, travel, garden, music, read, play games with her friends and family. She especially enjoyed playing ping pong with her grandchildren. She had a beautiful smile.
Molly is survived by her daughters Nancy Higbee of Rochester, New York; Susan King of Colorado; and her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her dearly loved daughter, Kimberly and her devoted husband Bob.
A celebration of life will be held at the Dewitt Community Church in the Spring. Date and time will be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Upstate Foundation to the Robert B. and Molly G. Endowed Professorship in Neurosurgery, 750 E. Adams St. Syracuse, New York 13210..
